Victor Osimhen is once again the subject of attention as Manchester United needs a top-tier striker more than any other addition during the summer transfer window.
A report from La Gazzetta Dello Sport today (press image below) states that Napoli is eager to speak with the Nigerian international in order to learn more about his goals.
The African star, who led the Scudetto-winning team in scoring, said following the season’s last match:
“I don’t know what will happen in the coming year, but I’m optimistic and driven. I’m comfortable here and I adore the locals and the city. I’ll accept everything that is decided; let’s see what the president chooses.
The Naples-based team, according to the Italian media site, is uncertain about his future and is seeking a clear response. Next week, they will meet with his agent to discuss the player’s wishes.
According to GdS, Man Utd is in the lead in negotiations to capture Osimhen during the summer transfer season. He won’t be permitted to depart unless a price of £103 million (120 million euros) is paid.
According to rumours, Chelsea is unable to provide Champions League football, while Newcastle lacks the fame and tradition of the Old Trafford team.
However, Real Madrid cannot be completely ruled out of the competition after selling Benzema, while Bayern Munich and PSG are watching the situation from a distance.
Osimhen was a goal scoring machine for Napoli last season, scoring 31 goals in just 35 games (across all competitions). What do you think? Should Man Utd offer £103m to sign him?
