This month, Arsenal will hold further talks about a possible move for Joao Felix…

What exactly is the word?
According to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs, who has provided an update on Arsenal’s pursuit of the Atletico Madrid attacker, with Gabriel Jesus out for the foreseeable future due to injury.

“Arsenal has scheduled additional talks regarding a loan for Joao Felix. Atletico Madrid’s demands continue to be high, with the Spanish club hoping to pit suitors against one another. There has yet to be an agreement on a package. “Ideally, #AFC would like an option to buy (not a given) set below £70m and a loan fee of around £5m,” he tweeted.

According to The Athletic, the LaLiga club wants a €21 million (£18.6 million) package that includes a €15 million loan fee and a €6 million gross salary.

Jacobs went on to say that the signing of Felix would not affect their interest in fellow January target Mykhaylo Mudryk, as the Gunners want to sign both players before the January 31st deadline.

Felix would be more than adequate cover for the injured Jesus, with the Ukraine sensation likely to provide more depth on the wings and also matching the club’s long-term project of signing young talent with bags of potential. He, too, has the ability to play out wide and a little deeper in midfield.

With his recent World Cup exploits, which included one goal and two assists from five starts, many people saw why Atleti paid a whopping £133 million to Benfica for him back in July 2019.
