Tammy Abraham, a striker for Roma, revealed that Reece James, a friend, is constantly urging him to sign with Chelsea.
Tammy Abraham, who actually graduated from the Chelsea academy, has previously played on a regular basis for the first team at Stamford Bridge. However, he did relocate from West London to Rome a few years ago.
The 25-year-old forward had a respectable run with Roma over the course of two seasons, scoring 36 goals in 102 appearances.
Will the Englishman, however, ever play again in the Premier League?
Abraham claims that James, one of his former teammates, constantly prods him to secure a return to the Blues in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.
James always tells me to come back, and I still talk to so many Chelsea players,” Abraham said.
It goes without saying that Chelsea needs to bring in a center-forward during the summer transfer window. Abraham’s name has also come up in transfer rumours.
Abraham is a player who is “being mentioned” at Chelsea as a possible transfer target, according to a report by journalist Simon Phillips on his Substack earlier this month.
In the meantime, Serie A club Roma may be willing to sell Abraham for close to £40 million, according to a recent Calciomercato report.
Abraham’s name being mentioned as a potential solution for the No. 9 spot doesn’t bother us. However, we should look into better alternatives first.
The Roma forward would likely end the season with more goals than any other player on the current Chelsea roster.
The Chelsea first-team squad still includes a strong core of academy players, which is something the supporters would love to see continue. We’ll have to wait and see if James is successful in reuniting with Abraham.
