During the January transfer window, Chelsea paid about €70 million to acquire Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Arsenal and other clubs were also interested in the player, but the Blues did well to land him. It was anticipated that the 22-year-old would have an immediate impact in the Premier League, but it is obvious that things have not gone as expected for him.
Since moving to Chelsea in January, Mudryk has made just six league starts and one UEFA Champions League start. He has two assists and no goals during that span.
According to a report from Fichajes, Chelsea is now frustrated with his performances and may try to sell him in the summer.
He was acquired by the Blues in January for a sizable sum of money, so they would have anticipated him to contribute right away. It will be interesting to see whether they are already prepared to write off the 22-year-old winger.
Mudryk proved his talent while playing for Shakhtar Donetsk, and there’s no denying that he has the potential to grow into a key offensive player for Chelsea. Maybe Chelsea should give him until the end of the following season and exercise more restraint with him.
