While Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal are all interested in Lautaro Martinez this summer, Inter intends to ‘demand’ a £69.5 million fee from him.
Martinez has long been strongly rumoured to be moving to the Premier League.
He moved to Inter from Racing Club in 2018 for €25 million (£21.7 million), and while playing at the San Siro, he won the Italian Cup and Serie A championship.
In 170 Serie A appearances, the Argentine international has scored an impressive 78 goals, provided 25 assists, and contributed to 35 goals across 52 games across all competitions this season.
Martinez’s threat to his team will be a major topic of discussion leading up to the Champions League final, so Inter needs their striker to be at his best for the game against Manchester City.
Following the showcase match in Istanbul, Inter anticipates receiving a flood of inquiries regarding the 25-year-old’s availability before the summer transfer window.
It comes as no surprise at all that Martinez is being linked to Manchester United and Chelsea, two teams that are in desperate need of a new striker.
Over the past few years, Tottenham and Arsenal have also been linked, and should Harry Kane decide to leave the latter, they may decide to rekindle their interest even though they are unable to provide the player with Champions League football.
According to a recent InterLive report, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, is prepared to “do everything” to beat out Martinez’s suitors in the summer.
Martinez ‘wants to move to the Premier League’, according to Football Insider.
The same source now claims that a bid of £69.5 million should be sufficient to secure the Argentine World Cup champion.
Due to the need for a “proven goalscorer” at both Premier League clubs, Chelsea and United are “eyeing a move” for Martinez, and Inter will “demand” that fee.
Mauricio Pochettino, the former manager of Tottenham, will soon be named as Chelsea’s new manager, and according to Football Insider, he wants to sign a fellow countryman as soon as the summer transfer window opens.
Martinez is reportedly a “huge fan” of Pochettino, and the Blues are rumoured to be “prioritising” the acquisition of a new striker.
Chelsea is also interested in Harry Kane of Tottenham and Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen in addition to Martinez.
