‘Great attention’ is being shown by Inter Milan towards Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek, claims Gazzetta dello Sport.
Although Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara left AC Milan, their local rivals may now be more inclined to sign the 27-year-old.
The Nerazzurri’s sports director, Piero Ausilio, had previously evaluated the situation for the Chelsea player last summer. He could come back for the midfielder because Inter needs to replace Roberto Gagliardini in the upcoming transfer window.
The English international, who has one year left on his contract, is worth €20 million to the Blues, minus bonuses. He is one of the players whose summer transfer to another team in west London is possible.
Chelsea would ask for Loftus-Cheek to be included in the deal for André Onana if Inter insists on buying him. The 27-year-old custodian is valued by his employer at no less than €60 million, and Mauricio Pochettino’s team is eager to get him since a major club also wants him.
Davide Frattesi of Sassuolo is another midfielder Inter are interested in, in addition to Loftus-Cheek.
After their Champions League final on Saturday against Manchester City, Inter will speak with Chelsea.
They might discuss Loftus-Cheek, Onana, Romelu Lukaku (on loan from Chelsea to Inter), and a few other players during the meeting.
