Newcastle United and ACF Fiorentina are both reportedly interested in signing Sofyan Amrabat, and Liverpool is prepared to pay their asking price to acquire him.
The Reds are prepared to match the Moroccan’s asking price of €30 million (£25 million), claims journalist Giacomo Iacobellis. Liverpool is keeping an eye on Amrabat, who was strongly linked with a move to Anfield following the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
A deal cannot be completed despite Liverpool’s willingness to match Fiorentina’s asking price due to Amrabat’s preference to move to Spain, where Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona are also considering the midfielder.
Amrabat might be the best midfield addition for Jurgen Klopp given the German’s need for several upgrades in that area. Liverpool may be forced into a waiting game for the African superstar that they cannot afford to play because the Fiorentina star is holding out for a transfer to La Liga.
Liverpool needs to make a decision regarding Amrabat soon.
After the World Cup in December of last year, Amrabat’s reputation soared, and while the midfielder could be a great addition for most top clubs, this most recent transfer development forces Liverpool to decide whether or not to sign the 26-year-old.
Now that we know it, Liverpool is prepared to agree to Fiorentina’s terms for the midfielder. The Reds must choose whether to wait it out with the Moroccan international or make an effort to persuade the Serie A dynamo to move to England because Amrabat is eager to move to Spain.
