Joko Gvardiol is willing to leave RB Leipzig for Manchester City in the summer transfer window, according to Tuesday’s report by Sky Deutschland journalist Philipp Hinze.
While there are negotiations going on behind the scenes regarding his transfer, the 21-year-old has begun the preseason with the German club.
According to Bild, the center-back is one of the players preparing to leave the team, and his sale should net €100 million.
According to reports, he and Manchester City reached a deal four weeks ago, but the agreement between the two clubs is now needed to complete the transaction.
Leipzig had previously delayed Gvardiol negotiations because they didn’t want the price of the signings they wanted to make to increase as a result of his sale. They can move forward with the sale of him and don’t currently have any plans to add anything else.
According to reports, the negotiations for Gvardiol are ‘now gaining new momentum’, most likely between the Bundesliga team and the Premier League champions.
Additionally, Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato claimed on Twitter that Pep Guardiola’s team had ‘positive discussions’ with one of the operation’s middlemen on Tuesday.
Aouna claims that following this meeting, Manchester City is “confident that the club can complete the deal” for the Croatian international during this transfer window.
