Arsenal may be getting ready to sabotage the pursuit of a Premier League rival, which would greatly bolster their own offensive capabilities.
This summer, who will Arsenal be acquiring?
Despite Aston Villa’s ongoing efforts to entice Moussa Diaby to join Unai Emery, recent rumours have emerged that now associate the Gunners with a potential swoop.
An exciting era is now being ushered into north London by Mikel Arteta after deals for Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber were finally announced over the weekend, in addition to the earlier signing of Kai Havertz. The rest of the Premier League would be seriously threatened should he now also sign this French speedster.
In a subsequent interview with GIVEMESPORT, author Christian Falk stated: “Arsenal have been focusing on him since a month ago, possibly even a year. The two clubs that are currently really, really hot for me are Newcastle and them.
“Aston Villa would be so intriguing for him right now, and it would give him a chance to prove his abilities to the Premier League. Jonas Hoffman, a member of the German national team who currently plays in Diaby’s position, has been signed by Diaby’s club.
“So you see, now that they are aware that Diaby will depart, they wish to sell him in order to profit from this transfer. In light of this, I believe that this player will also heat up over the coming weeks.
Which positions is Moussa Diaby able to play?
Given his reputation as a highly versatile winger who can play on both flanks, up front, and even drop into attacking midfield, the 24-year-old would arrive as an ideal asset to integrate into this Gunners team.
But he is a much more intriguing and admired prospect than just his capacity to play a variety of roles.
He scored 14 goals and contributed to another 11 for Bayer Leverkusen last season, tying Bukayo Saka’s league total from the previous year. These are impressive numbers for a player playing for a team that only placed sixth in the Bundesliga, especially considering how well-known the England international has been.
Had he not recorded an even more impressive 31 goal contributions the year before, such a fantastic season might frequently be dismissed as a fluke. His meteoric rise to becoming one of Europe’s most in-demand wide men has been nothing short of meteoric, and a move to north London will only serve to further his ascent.
This superiority was emphasised by journalist Aaron Stokes as he pushed the Magpies to act, writing on Twitter: “31 G/A in 42 games last season, electrifying pace, good with both feet + fearless on the ball. If they can get Bayer to sell and the player to sign up, it will be an amazing deal.
Given that they already completed one deal this summer by allowing Granit Xhaka to join Xabi Alonso’s team, Arteta must consider this a no-brainer for the rumoured £50 million that the German club will demand.
Even though the Swiss international had a difficult time at the Emirates, he eventually made it through and ended up winning over some of the supporters. In his final league season, he scored 14 goals, which greatly helped to mend any fractures left over from his 2019 argument and turned around a career that at times seemed lost.
A move for Diaby from this same division could see this replicated as they once again attempt to reach an agreement with Leverkusen. They acquired him from the Bundesliga in 2016 on a £30 million deal in a move that can now be described as a masterclass given how crucial he has been throughout Arteta’s steady revolution.
