Journalist Paul Brown claims that Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard would receive a “longer contract” at the Emirates Stadium and that both parties are “very relaxed” about the issue.

How long will Martin Odegaard remain a member of Arsenal?

Norwegian international Odegaard, whose contract with Arsenal runs through the summer of 2025, reportedly makes almost £115,000 per week on his current terms at the Emirates.

The 24-year-old would meet with Arsenal to talk about a new deal to reflect his value to the team, according to a 90min report from earlier this year.

The Gunners’ club captain Odegaard would be eligible for a “significant” pay rise, and his management are open to discussing the terms of prolonging his stay in north London.

Arsenal has the option to extend Martin degaard’s current contract until June 2026, according to renowned writer Fabrizio Romano, who made the announcement on Twitter back in May. He wrote: “But negotiations will take place soon over new long term deal. Arsenal wants Martin to be a part of their long-term ambition because De Gaard loves the club.

As reported by Sky Sports, Mikel Arteta’s team has now signed contracts with William Saliba, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Aaron Ramsdale, making them some of the club’s biggest stars.

Reiss Nelson also received a new, long-term contract from Arsenal, according to the club’s official website, as Spaniard Arteta works to assemble a team that will play for many years to come.

Journalist Brown believes that Odegaard might be the next to follow and pledge his career to the Gunners for the foreseeable future in his interview with Football FanCast.

“I think Arsenal are definitely keen to get Odegaard on a longer contract and reward what he’s done there on the pitch, by giving him a sizable pay rise,” Brown said to FFC. There isn’t much of a rush because they do have the option to extend his contract by a year, which I believe is on the agenda. Odegaard has always seemed completely at ease when discussing the subject. Regarding the scenario involving Arsenal, I don’t believe there is much cause for concern.

Should Martin Odegaard receive a new contract from Arsenal?

By any means necessary, considering that Odegaard is the Gunners’ captain and possibly the most significant player at the team.

Simply said, Arteta cannot afford to lose Odegaard’s services anytime soon. The Daily Mail claimed in May that Paris Saint-Germain was reportedly interested in the Norwegian midfielder, making the club’s plan to extend his contract a top priority.

According to Transfermarkt, Odegaard spearheaded Arsenal’s effort to win the Premier League last season, making 45 appearances across all competitions and contributing 15 goals and 8 assists.

According to Fotmob, the 24-year-old also managed to lay on 76 opportunities overall throughout the 2022–23 season, ranking fifth among all players in the English top division in terms of significant chances produced.

In 2023–24, Odegaard will be a crucial player for Arsenal once more, and his manager Arteta will be eager to sign him to a long-term contract as he develops his vision at the Emirates.
