Manuel Ugarte, a playmaker for Sporting CP and a Uruguayan international, has been linked to Manchester United, and the most recent rumours seem intriguing.
The Red Devils, Chelsea, and French champions Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in acquiring the South American midfielder, according to today’s edition of Correio da Manha (press image given below).
The respected Portuguese news source said that Man Utd had made Ugarte from the Lions a wage offer.
The 22-year-old midfielder is evaluating the offers from United, PSG, and the Blues as he prepares to quit the Liga Nos heavyweights in the summer.
The present contract for Ugarte expires in 2026, and he will only be free to depart if the exit clause of 60 million euros (£51.5m) is satisfied.
In the just finished Primeira Liga season, the former Fenix defensive midfielder started 28 games and contributed to the team’s 13 clean sheets.
He has played eight times for the senior international team thus far. Although he was a member of Uruguay’s World Cup team, he did not play in any of the contests in Qatar.
