According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports, Manchester United is “pushing” to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

What are the most recent Man United transfer rumours?
In light of a prospective summer swoop, Plettenberg recently stated that Man United is “monitoring” Leon Goretzka’s status at Bayern Munich. However, the midfielder has made it clear that he wants to stay with the German side.

As a result, the Red Devils may continue to seek other targets, such as Mount, who transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claims is “keen” to come to Old Trafford, and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, in whom they have lately showed a “serious” interest.

The 24-year-old is reportedly the subject of a £50 million approach from United, according to journalist James Ducker, although a more recent development suggests that a deal might be reached for less money.

Plettenberg stated on Twitter that Erik ten Hag has his eye on the Englishman while also providing some clarification on the cost Man United might anticipate paying.

“MUFC is pushing a lot,” the Sky Sports correspondent reported. Both Ten Hag and the bosses agree that they would love to have him! Everyone in the club is persuaded of him.

He will choose between ManUtd and Liverpool, I understand. Currently, the price is valued at between €45 and €50 million, including bonuses.

Will Mason Mount be acquired by Man Utd?
For the England international, the Red Devils will face off against their fierce rivals, and one possible edge they may have is that Old Trafford will host Champions League football next season, whilst Liverpool had to make do with the Europa League.

As a result, a transfer to Manchester United is undoubtedly an extremely alluring offer for the Chelsea star, and there is evidence that he would be a superb addition to the team, especially if he is only available for €45 million to €50 million (£38 million to £43 million).

The maestro, who was described as ‘outstanding’ by former Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel, is an excellent defender for an advanced midfielder, coming in at 87th percentile for tackles made per 90 over the last year.

While the midfielder struggled to score goals in the Premier League last season, scoring only three, he has previously shown himself to be a major threat on the attack, contributing to more goals than any other Chelsea player in the 2021–22 season.

Mount would be a valuable addition to Ten Hag’s team, and it is encouraging to hear that he could be available for less money than earlier rumours indicated.
