Manchester United could address their frontline and striker problems this summer for only €50 million.
Since Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract was terminated at Old Trafford, the Red Devils have been without a reliable No. 9. Marcus Rashford, who performs best on the left, has occasionally played up front and was given the assignment in the FA Cup final.
A second possibility for the position was Wout Weghorst, who was brought in on loan but failed to register a single Premier League goal. Anthony Martial has also played up front for Manchester United.
One inexpensive alternative has surfaced for the team of manager Erik ten Hag, who is rumoured to be interested in a number of attackers, including the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.
Rasmus Hojlund, an Atalanta hitman, may be available this summer for €50 million, or around £43 million, according to the Italian publication TuttoMercatoWeb.
The strong Dane has made an impression during his time in Serie A and has the height and strength that Ten Hag is looking for in a focal point. At only 20, he still has a lot of room for growth.
Arsenal have previously expressed interest in the forward, but with Ten Hag, a dilemma now exists. The Dutchman must decide if Hojlund is ready at such a young age or whether €50 million is too much to pay for a rotational option at the club with such a young attacker.
Hojlund, who has been compared to Erling Haaland, just transferred from Sturm Graz to Atalanta last summer for almost €17 million.
The striker is rated by Transfermarkt at €35 million.
