With the news from O Jogo, via Man United News, that Goncalo Ramos may now be available for less money than initially thought, Manchester United may have received a boost in their search for a striker.
Amount of goals scored by Goncalo Ramos?
The Benfica player, who represents Portugal internationally, has clearly matured this season and is having his most productive season to date. The player had a best league goal total of seven prior to 2022/23.
However, this season the youngster has flourished in attack for his team and has gone on to score 19 league goals with an additional two assists. His goal contribution rate increased to 21 in only 30 starts, or a rate of 0.83 goals and assists for every 90 starts. It contributed significantly to Benfica winning the league championship back.
Due to his impressive performances, the Premier League, particularly Manchester United, has expressed interest in the 22-year-old’s services.
Ramos has been listed among the names the Red Devils have considered when looking for a striker. However, they received an initial price quote of about £80 million to sign the international forward and were informed that Benfica would not sell him for any less.
Ramos is being hired by Manchester United.
However, a report from O Jogo, distributed through Man United News, suggests that this fee may have changed. This is because, according to their information, the Portuguese club is willing to flog the striker this summer, but only for 80 million euros—a price that equals about £68 million—instead of pounds.
That represents a savings of about £12 million from the original price and may be more enticing to United, who are still interested in signing the player, even though it is noted that no formal offer has been made for his services as of yet. They might soon be persuaded to submit a formal offer if the new amount turns out to be less expensive than anticipated.
When you consider how impressive Ramos has been for Benfica, it could be quite a coup for United if they are able to sign him. The aforementioned statistics undoubtedly support claims made by football journalist Josh Bunting that the striker has been “outstanding” for his club in 2022–23.
If the Red Devils choose to sign the player now during the summer transfer window, it demonstrates that he is a player who is currently at the top of his game and that they would be getting a very exciting player.
