Cristiano Ronaldo has given the clearest indication yet that he will stay at Manchester United under new manager Erik ten Hag.
Last summer, Ronaldo made the major decision to return to Manchester with the hopes of joining a team capable of fighting for the Premier League title, as well as a cup and a return to the Champions League.
However, the Portuguese international, who has a year left on his contract at Old Trafford, is poised to miss out on Champions League participation following a disastrous season in which United will finish with the lowest ever Premier League points total.
Ronaldo has scored an outstanding 24-goals in all competitions this season – and has even carried the squad at times – but there has been talk that he is contemplating his future at the club.
“I know that he has done a tremendous job at Ajax, and that he is an experienced coach,” Ronaldo added.
However, we must give him time.
“Things must shift in his favor.
If he succeeds, Man Utd as a whole will be successful, so I wish him well.
“Not only as players, but also as fans, we are all thrilled and excited.”
We have to trust that we can win titles next year.”
