According to reports, Josko Gvardiol, a target for Manchester City, has reached an agreement on a contract to transfer to the Etihad Stadium.

Josko Gvardiol will he join Man City?
The RB Leipzig centre back has four more years left on his Bundesliga contract, but Pep Guardiola in the Premier League has taken notice of his impressive displays over the past campaign at the Red Bull Arena.

The 21-year-old was first mentioned as a top target by the Sky Blues earlier this month, according to Football Insider. It didn’t take long for Fabrizio Romano to confirm that the player had reached a personal agreement to move to England.

The sporting director of the Croatian international, Max Eberl, has since confirmed that talks between the two parties are going on and that the player and his representatives have expressed a “desire” to leave the club and join the premier league champions.

What are the most recent Man City moving news?
Gvardiol has “reached an agreement” regarding the contract being offered, according to the German publication BILD (via Sport Witness), and is therefore “on the verge” of leaving RB Leipzig and joining Man City.

If Marco Rose’s side is paid a fee of €100 million (£85 million), which the City hierarchy has “shown a willingness” to pay, they are “willing to discuss” the deal.

Given the positive impact he could have on both ends of the field, and the fact that the RB Leipzig president publicly addressed the situation, Guardiola and the board should unquestionably make an opening offer for the centre-back.

The Zagreb native, who plays left-footed by nature, averaged 2.3 clearances per game in the Bundesliga last season and won 17 of his 23 tackles. Because of this strong play, journalist Sripad dubbed him a “warrior” in defence, but he also contributes to the team’s success going forward.

The five-time trophy winner, who this season ranked in the 96th percentile for successful dribbles by centre backs, enjoys taking on his marker and helping his team advance up the field, according to FBRef. He has scored twice in six Champions League games, so he even occasionally finds the back of the net.

Last but not least, Gvardiol would give the manager some versatility with his ability to play at left-back in addition to his regular position in the middle of the backline. If the circumstances are right, this move would be a no-brainer to make.
