Romeo Lavia is reportedly a player that Arsenal is interested in signing after Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber, but they may run into trouble due to his £50 million price tag.

According to The Guardian, Arsenal’s business during the summer transfer window is still open.

Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are both close to moving to the Emirates Stadium, so the Gunners have already moved to sign Kai Havertz from their London rivals Chelsea this summer.

Romeo Lavia, a midfielder for Southampton, has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal. Other teams interested in the youngster include Liverpool and Manchester City.

In fact, according to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool and Arsenal are currently the two teams’most interested’ in acquiring Lavia this summer.

Following Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League, the 19-year-old appears to be on the move in the upcoming weeks.

However, after making significant purchases thus far this summer, Lavia’s price could make it more difficult for Arsenal to sign him.

After the sales of Rice and Timber, Arsenal wants Lavia.
The Guardian asserts that Arsenal is still actively pursuing new players.

Lavia is a target for Mikel Arteta’s team, who want to add ‘youth, depth, and drive’ to their revamped midfield.

However, considering that Southampton currently values Lavia at around £50 million, Arsenal’s asking price appears to be excessive.

Lavia made a strong impression for the Saints in his first Premier League season last year.

After moving from Manchester City to St. Mary’s last summer, the Belgian has been hailed as a “incredible” talent.

Arsenal has already acquired Havertz, and a move for Rice is about to happen, indicating that they are intent on reshaping their midfield this summer.

While Thomas Partey’s future with the team is uncertain, Granit Xhaka has already signed with Bayer Leverkusen.

A lot will depend on Arsenal’s outgoings, but if Lavia’s asking price were to decline over the next few weeks, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them pursue Lavia.
