By paying £60 million to acquire midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea this summer, the Red Devils and Erik ten Hag have already blown a lot of money.
In a deal that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2028, the England international will don the fabled number 7 jersey. Mount may not be the only new player to arrive at the stadium in the upcoming weeks.
Since David de Gea’s 12-year affiliation with the team has come to an end as a result of his contract expiring at the end of June, a new custodian is needed.

Football Insider claims that there has been a “huge new development” in the past 48 hours regarding United’s efforts to sign Hojlund.
According to the report, negotiations between Man United and Hojlund regarding a transfer have advanced. Priority one for the club before the transfer window closes is to bring in a productive number nine, and Hojlund appears to be the likely candidate.

Although Hojlund is only 20 years old, he already seems to be making progress and is possibly on the verge of becoming a star. After only joining Atalanta the previous season, he helped contribute to 14 goals in 34 games, which caused his Transfermarkt valuation to soar to a career-high €45m.
In addition to being compared to “Erling” Haaland by his former manager Christian Ilzer, Gian Piero Gasperini, the manager of Atalanta, also praised Hojlund as having “incredible maturity” as a player.

Due to Marcus Rashford’s primary position as a winger and the fact that Anthony Martial is reportedly up for sale, if he were to leave United, the club would be without a senior center-forward option. As a result, the Red Devils are close to agreeing to a deal to sign Hojlund, who would enable Rashford to perform in his preferred role.
