According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is poised to announce the acquisition of Angelo Gabriel.
He stated to GiveMeSport that all transfer-related paperwork has already been signed, and he is prepared for club confirmation.
The signing of Angelo is another indication that the squad is continuing to its guiding principle of signing young players with the hope that they would develop into future stars of the first team.
Andrey Santos, who has already earned a senior level cap for Brazil, has been one of the more intriguing signings of the past 12 months.
By saying he anticipates seeing the attacker soon, the midfielder has also dropped the strongest hints that the attacker is on his way to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea is going to reveal Angelo.
Romano now asserts that everything is set up in the background for the player to be revealed as a Blue very soon.
Everything is set, he added, adding that it will likely be a six-year contract with a seventh-season option.
“All the paperwork is signed, so it’s just a matter of an announcement,” says Angelo Gabriel, “but I think he’s going to be a Chelsea player and announced as a Chelsea player very soon.”
Some may be concerned that the club’s continued emphasis on acquiring future stars could divert attention from acquiring players who could start as early as next season.
The present focus is on importing Moises Caicedo from Brighton, but as the negotiations have dragged on for a while, many are concerned that money problems would cause the deal to fall through at the last minute.
