Moises Caicedo, the transfer target of Man United and Arsenal, will be offered a new contract from the current Brighton side. The Ecuador international played a supporting role in the Seagulls team’s latest campaign after signing from South American club Independiente del Valle in 2021.
After Bissouma was sold to Tottenham, Moises took on a bigger role in the starting XI and his performance attracted the attention of other PL teams. Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea show interest in Caicedo.
He is unsurprising to see Man United and Arsenal tied, with both teams needing a long-term solution to their midfield problems. However, the report says the Seagulls are expected to enter talks with the 20-year-old midfielder to try and fend off interest from some of the country’s biggest teams.
The Seagulls deserve huge credit for being able to track down players of the Ecuadorian midfielder’s caliber and turn them into PL players. Their model is to find young and emerging gems, develop and resell them for a significant profit, or use them on their team.
As we also saw with Cucurella over the summer period, the Seagulls signed Marc just for the campaign and quickly made a profit on him less than 12 months later. Despite numerous reports suggesting that some of PL’s other top teams were interested in the Ecuadorian, such as Liverpool, Man United were the only club after the player.
