In terms of Marcelo Brozovic’s future, the coming days will be of the utmost importance. Al Nassr has made the Inter midfielder an offer worth €20 million per season, as previously reported, but the player has not yet made a choice.
And it is only as a result of this that Barcelona is still competing. Given that the Blaugrana cannot really match the financial terms offered by the Saudi club, what they can provide is the thrill of competing at the highest level in Europe and in the UEFA Champions League.
Brozovic has not yet given his approval to the transfer, despite Inter and Al Nassr having reached an agreement for the player to be transferred for €23 million.
Gianluca Di Marzio recently asserted that the Croatian is now very receptive to the idea of relocating to Barcelona this summer. In actuality, the player has already given the Blaugrana his approval, but they have not yet made a formal offer.
The journalist also states that Barcelona’s offer will take some more time, which is not unexpected given their financial situation. However, the La Liga champions will keep negotiating.
The current Inter contract with Brozovic is valid until 2026. Although the Italians and Al Nassr have agreed on a price, the player has increased his financial demands. According to Di Marzio, the player has asked the Saudi club for a two-year contract with a salary of €30 million per year as a requirement for accepting the offer.
Again, Barcelona is not in a position to match any of the aforementioned numbers, but given their interest, it is expected that the Saudi club will increase their offer.
The Catalan giants have made the 30-year-old their top target now that the signings of Martin Zubimendi and Joshua Kimmich have all but been ruled out.
Even though they have the player’s approval, the situation is still challenging because they first need to offload some stars before making an offer to Brozovic.
