Wolves manager Bruno Lage has weighed in on speculation linking Pedro Neto to a move to Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta is expected to sign a forward before the transfer window closes, with Nicolas Pepe set to leave the club.
According to a recent report, the North London giants have identified Neto as a possible option and are hoping to reach an agreement before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Despite the rumors surrounding Neto, Lage has stated that he knows “absolutely nothing” about any potential Neto transfer.
“I heard about that, but nothing has come to us,” the Wolves manager said after Wolves’ 2-1 EFL Cup win over Preston North End on Tuesday. It’s natural to be interested, but no one has told me anything about any proposals, so I can’t confirm anything.”
Wolves are hesitant to sell the 22-year-old, who has five years remaining on his current contract and has started all three of the club’s Premier League games this season.
Arsenal are believed to be prioritizing the exit of Pepe before considering a long-term replacement, and Neto appears to be the ideal candidate.
