Liverpool looking to sign £87million player, consistently following him

If media reports are to be believed, Liverpool is frequently linked with Benfica youngsters.

In the summer transfer window, the Reds spent big money to sign Darwin Nunez from the Eagles, and now three more players are in the spotlight.

We covered a story a few days ago via O Jogo claiming that the Reds have made contact to sign Florentino Luis and are also interested in hiring Enzo Fernandez.

Recently, the renowned Portuguese news source (press image provided below) revealed that Liverpool are also interested in signing Liga Nos giant Antonio Silva.

According to O Jogo, the 18-year-old central defender is already shaking up the market with outstanding performances.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Barcelona are said to be interested in the starlet, who won the UEFA Youth League with Benfica last season.

This season, the youngster has broken into the first team and has been outstanding. So far in the league, he has made seven appearances and has helped the team keep five clean sheets.

The Eagles are currently top of the Primeira Liga table, and Silva put in a solid performance at the back to earn his team a 1-0 victory over champions, FC Porto, yesterday.

He was impressive in both games against French champions Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League.

His current contract is set to expire in 2027, with a massive release clause of 100 million euros (£87 million). According to O Jogo, club president Rui Costa will not negotiate a sale of the starlet during the January transfer window.

This means that any club can only sign him if the £87 million clause in his contract is activated.

Liverpool’s central defense has plenty of quality and depth, but Matip and Konate are currently out, and Gomez and Van Dijk have been inconsistent.
