Cody Gakpo spoke to NOS about his future as transfer rumors swirled around him.

Gakpo appears to have been linked with nearly every club in Europe, from Leeds United and Southampton to Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Arsenal are thought to be among the clubs interested in Gakpo – they even scouted him last week – but when asked about his dream destinations for next summer, the winger did not mention the Gunners.

Indeed, Gakpo left Arsenal off his list of clubs he’d most like to play for, but Liverpool was mentioned.

The Dutch star stated that playing for a club like Liverpool would be an honor.

“PSV was always my fantasy club.” When asked about his dream club, Gakpo replied, “I don’t really have one for the rest.”

“Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool are all contenders.” It would be an honor to play there, but I also need to figure out what kind of team will best help me achieve my goals.”

Gakpo believes that playing for Liverpool would be an honor, and the Merseyside club could do a lot worse than sign the PSV star.

In front of goal, he is quick, strong, skilled, and brilliant. Gakpo is exactly the type of player the Reds require to add depth to their attack.

Gakpo is reportedly a big fan of Pep Lijnders, and after a strong start to the season with PSV, he should be on the Reds’ radar.

The Merseyside club will face stiff competition if they enter this race, but it’s clear from these comments that Gakpo would be open to a move to Anfield.
