According to media reports, Liverpool are interested in signing Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven.

Earlier this month, the Dutch international stated that playing for a club like Liverpool would be an honor for him.

The 23-year-old, who won the Dutch Player of the Year award for his outstanding performance in the Netherlands last season, made his World Cup debut last night against Senegal.

Gakpo broke the deadlock in the 84th minute of the game with a brilliant headed goal and put in a fantastic performance to help his team earn all three points.

The quick winger is in the spotlight following his outstanding performance. Liverpool and Manchester United, according to Calcio Mercato, have made contact with PSV and obtained more information than other suitors.

According to the Italian news outlet, the Premier League duo have been informed that the youngster will not leave the Eredivisie side for less than £39m-£43m (45-50 million euros).

With Mane gone and Diaz injured, Liverpool are currently without a natural left winger. However, there is no quality RW to cover for Salah.

Cody Gakpo, who can play on either flank, would be an excellent addition in this scenario. He started and excelled in the central attacking midfield against Senegal.
