Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Matheus Nunes since last summer, and a new update on the club’s pursuit of the player has emerged from a reliable source.

Liverpool are still interested in the Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder, according to The Times’ Northern Correspondent Paul Joyce.
According to Joyce, a £44 million deal for Nunes has been proposed for the summer, which appears to have the approval of Jurgen Klopp, who hugged the Brazilian midfielder after the 2-2 draw with Wolves at Anfield last weekend.
Liverpool have been unable to sign a midfielder in the advanced role who can not only connect play to the front three but also provide a reliable defensive transition since the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum in the summer of 2021.
