According to reports, Manchester United and Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot are in direct contact once more regarding a summer transfer.
What recent news regarding transfers at Man United?
Despite the ongoing takeover drama at Old Trafford, it appears that the Red Devils are planning transfers. Rabiot is reportedly a long-term target for Erik ten Hag as he looks to strengthen his squad with midfield and attacking additions.
A transfer was anticipated last summer, and a deal had even been reached between the two clubs. As we all know, the transfer did not go through, but it appears that United, and specifically Ten Hag, are still interested in making a deal because Rabiot will soon be a free agent after his contract expires.
In the past 48 hours, Rabiot has received an update from the Italian publication CalcioMercato, which claimed that Premier League teams are actively pursuing the Frenchman. Old Trafford officials have made new direct contact with one of them. Newcastle is mentioned with interest alongside Bayern Munich, a powerhouse in Germany.

Adrien Rabiot: who is he?
Rabiot, a 28-year-old central midfielder who can also play on the left or as a holding midfielder, is primarily used in that position. The Adidas-sponsored France international has played for both club and country in exactly 450 senior appearances, scoring more than 70 goals while collecting 24 major awards.
He has been a regular this season, appearing on 45 occasions across all competitions, since signing with Juventus in 2019.
David Trezeguet seems to be a fan of the midfielder because he called Rabiot “world-class” back in December while the World Cup was going on and said that Juventus had a problem with his contract.
“[With Rabiot] Juventus has a problem because while he may have faced criticism in Italy, the situation is entirely different in France.
“He is a phenomenal player of the highest calibre. He will now weigh his options and resume his role as a key player as he always has been.
Due to Rabiot’s experience and versatility, a free transfer for the €30 million-rated midfielder could be a very smart move for United, much like the move the team made for Christian Eriksen last season. As a result, Juventus’ potential upcoming loss could be United’s gain.
It appears that the team is making an effort to facilitate a transfer, and who knows, if United finishes in the top four, that may improve their chances of securing the player’s services.
