The Serbian marksman is one of Manchester United’s center-forward targets this summer, and the club is reportedly among the teams interested in signing Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic.
What has changed about Vlahovic and Manchester United?
The Red Devils, along with Bayern Munich and Chelsea, are reportedly in the running to sign the 23-year-old striker, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. However, it is unclear whether the striker’s present club will approve a move at the end of the current campaign.
Respected insider wrote on Twitter in response to such interest: “Understand Chelsea haven’t sent a $80 million offer for Dusan Vlahovi, as of now. His club values strikers highly, but there have been no offers or negotiations for him.
“Manchester United and Bayern remain in the running for Vlahovi, but we’re still awaiting Juventus’ decision,”
As Romano stated above, ESPN had recently made claims that the Stamford Bridge club had submitted an offer of €80 million (£70 million) for the services of the former Fiorentina player. However, the towering asset had only recently moved to Turin on a £66.6 million transfer in January 2022.
What sort of player is Vlahovic?
The Belgrade native has drawn attention because to his striking resemblance to Manchester City star Erling Haaland, with insider Dean Jones earlier commenting that the sought-after ace is “a bit like Haaland.”
That resemblance is striking given that both players are commanding left-footed alternatives in attack, with the City great towering at 6 feet 4 and Vlahovic only a hair shorter at 6 feet 3; their similarities seem obvious.

A clinical presence in his own right, the Juve player has scored 23 goals in 62 games for the Old Lady so far after previously tallying 49 goals in 108 games during his time in Florence. However, he has struggled to match the Norwegian’s recent ruthless goalscoring form, with Haaland scoring 52 goals on all fronts.
The Serbian FA president, Nenad Bjekovic, even went so far as to claim that Vlahovic is “better and more than complete” than the Etihad hero, and Forbes’ Emmet Gates has called the former Partizan player a potential “generational” talent. Such is the respect for Vlahovic’s abilities.
Gates said earlier in the season that the striker is “a Ferrari being driven like a Fiat” by manager Max Allegri, with a change in scenery being what is needed for him to finally get back firing once again. Despite the £220k-per-week machine’s ten league goals this season, Allegri has allegedly drove the striker “like a Ferrari.”
With United – who might let Anthony Martial leave this summer – in desperate need of a new number nine, Vlahovic might just have the Haaland-like skills Erik ten Hag will probably be looking for.
