According to Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, a teammate at Manchester City, is the best player he has ever had the pleasure of playing alongside.
After winning the Football Writers’ Association Award, the Norwegian goal scorer was seen in a Football Daily video responding to quickfire questions, one of which concerned the man worth £54 million (according to the Guardian).
Even though Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham have a fantastic rapport on the pitch for Borussia Dortmund, it appears that he is fixated on Kevin De Bruyne.
The best player Erling Haaland has ever played with is Kevin De Bruyne, according to him.
The 22-year-old has played with some incredible players throughout his career, including Jadon Sancho, Marco Reus, and Martin Odegaard to name a few, in addition to the Englishman.
All of the aforementioned attacking players, whether they were playing for Norway or Borussia Dortmund, had a successful partnership with the world’s best striker.
However, it appears that Erling Haaland also thinks Kevin De Bruyne is in a league of his own when compared to other elite players.
When asked who was the best player he had ever played with, he responded, “I think I have to say Kevin De Bruyne.”
Never before has Erling Haaland collaborated with a creator of such high calibre.
Erling Haaland’s selection of the former VFL Wolfsburg No. 10 is not surprising given that the two have arguably formed the most devastating partnership in all of football this season.
De Bruyne must have had some involvement in the goal almost every time Haaland puts the ball in the net, it seems.
It comes as no surprise that the former Borussia Dortmund hitman enjoys playing with the Belgian playmaker as much as he does because he is any No. 9’s dream.
As brilliant as players like Jude Bellingham and Martin Odegaard may be, Kevin De Bruyne is one of the best creators of his generation, and Jamie Carragher was correct when he said the Sky Blues star may be the best passer he has seen in the past 30 to 40 years.
