This summer, Arsenal is reportedly prepared to compete for the services of Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze.
What are the most recent Arsenal transfer rumours?
Ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, the Gunners appear to be working diligently behind the scenes to add new players to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Declan Rice, a midfielder for West Ham, is the player that Arsenal is most interested in signing, according to reports from the Emirates.
With add-ons, a fee could be more than £100 million, and personal terms would not be a concern before a transfer. Arteta is willing to make room for Granit Xhaka to join Bayer Leverkusen in order to make room for Rice, who he believes could be crucial in helping Arsenal mount another title challenge the following season.
His transfer to Arsenal appears to be moving forward, and after Rice, Chukwueze may be the next player sporting director Edu Gaspar and company look to sign.
Arsenal were mentioned in a Calciomercato update about Chukwueze, which was relayed by Sport Witness. According to the report, Real Madrid and AC Milan are both interested in the attacker’s services, in addition to the Gunners.
Chukwueze, whose performances this year were dubbed “sensational” by journalist Zach Lowy, has just over a year left on his contract with Villarreal.

Samuel Chukwueze: who is he?
The 24-year-old’s primary position is right wing, but he can also play on the other side of the field or in an attacking midfield position. The Nigerian international has previously been wanted in north London, so the Gunners may get lucky a third time.
Chukwueze has made 207 senior appearances for Villarreal in total, contributing 31 assists and 37 goals.
According to FBref, Chukwueze is comparable to both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, and he could give Arteta another really exciting option in the final third. The Villarreal star is in the 95th percentile for carries into the penalty area and the 99th percentile for successful take-ons that result in shots.
There will be plenty of football to be played, so adding strength in depth for Arteta could be a smart move with Arsenal set to play Champions League football once more next season. Judging by the looks of it, a swoop for Chukwueze may well be one to watch on in the coming months in the transfer market.
