Various reports out of Italy have named Manchester United as one of the clubs interested in Napoli star Victor Osimhen in recent weeks.
On May 13th, Area Napoli reported that the Red Devils attempted to also include Anthony Martial in a deal for the 23-year-old.
The Serie A club has ‘little interest’ in signing the Frenchman and is likely to accept a fee to allow the 23-year-old to join Manchester United.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb journalist Niccol Ceccarini, if Luciano Spalletti’s side receives a €100 million offer, ‘it would undoubtedly be taken into account.’
When discussing the former Lille man’s suitors, Man United is mentioned as one of the clubs ‘at the window’ for him. It is currently stated that Napoli have received no offers for their prized asset.
According to Sport Mediaset, Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis is ‘attracted by the seductive’ market and is torn between keeping and selling some of his players.
It’s no surprise that the Nigeria international is being talked about because he’s ‘tempting’ other European clubs. According to the report, Premier League clubs could “comfortably put on the table the €100 million” requested by De Laurentiis.
Man United and Newcastle United have been mentioned by Sport Mediaset as being “in the lead” to sign Osimhen this summer. If Napoli receives a €100 million offer for the attacker, the club’s president has already stated that he will “say a resounding yes.”
Although Sport Mediaset reports that the two English clubs could make an offer of €100 million for Osimhen, only time will tell if Manchester United or Newcastle make a bid in that range.
