In the upcoming days, Arsenal is expected to make two highly anticipated signings.
Indeed, all indications are that agreements to sign both Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are almost complete. Although neither agreement has been officially announced, it seems only a matter of time before both players sign.
Timber is expected to sign before Rice, according to Charles Watts of Inside Arsenal, who also asserts that the Dutch defender might formally sign with Arsenal within the next 24 hours.
To sign first: Timber
Watts revealed what he is aware of the “skilled” defender.
“Let’s discuss the situation with those two. The player we anticipate being announced first from those two is Jurrien Timber. Maybe tomorrow, Watts said, but possibly sometime in the next 24 hours.
“There is some disappointment that this hasn’t been announced yet, but we anticipate that it will happen fairly soon. He might even join the team in Germany, there’s a chance.
Headstart
Getting hung up on the precise dates a player signs may seem silly, but it is beneficial to complete a deal as quickly as possible.
As Watts points out, there is a chance that Timber, if he is signed tomorrow, will be able to connect with his teammates as soon as possible, understand Mikel Arteta’s strategies, and become more a part of the team.
Despite Timber’s talent, if he doesn’t understand how to play in this system with these players, he won’t be of any use to Arsenal, so it’s critical to sign him as soon as possible.
Fortunately, it appears that we may only be a few hours away from having a deal in place.
