Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer move for Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio

Erik ten Hag, the head coach of the 20-time English champions, is determined to strengthen his attacking options in the current market regardless of whether Ronaldo stays at the club beyond the deadline.

The Red Devils champions appear to have been priced out of a move for Antony due to Ajax’s high valuation, and the Spaniard has now emerged as a genuine target for the club, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Spain international’s current contract at the Bernabeu is set to expire next June, and he is expected to leave the La Liga champions during the summer transfer window.

Liverpool, AC Milan, and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the forward, who could be available for around £25 million this summer due to his contract situation.

Since joining Real Madrid from Mallorca in 2014, Asensio has scored 49 goals and provided 24 assists in 235 games, helping the club win three La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues.

During the 2021-22 season, Asensio was still a key player for Carlo Ancelotti’s team, appearing in 42 games across all competitions and contributing 12 goals and two assists.

“Renew or abandon Real Madrid?” “I believe there are three options, including staying and completing my contract year,” Asensio told Marca earlier this summer.

“My future does not have to be determined by whether or not I am selected for the next World Cup.” Rumours are a part of football, especially at Real Madrid. It is always associated with high-level players. Every summer, a large number of players arrive, which we must accept.”
