With the confirmation of Lionel Messi’s wish to return to Barcelona from another club by both his father and agent Jorge, Barcelona has reason to believe that he will.
After meeting with Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, to discuss his son’s future, Jorge Messi was seen leaving her home. This summer, Lionel Messi will be a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain over the weekend.
Messi Senior told JijantesFC’s cameras, “He would love to come back.”
He also reaffirmed that a deal hinges on Barcelona and that they were hopeful that it may happen but not certain that it would. This followed after a 20 to 25 minute meeting in which he was trapped and questioned by cameras. Jorge Messi and Laporta reportedly phoned La Liga to ask whether they had approved Barcelona’s viability plan, which will allow them to recruit players once again. It was announced that this clearance had been granted around an hour before the two were spotted meeting.
Although reports claim that Messi is considering offers from Saudi Arabia and Inter Miami, this is the first time the Messi camp has made a decision on which team Messi could like to play for.
According to several rumours, Barcelona still has to offload players in order to balance their books and make a deal for Messi work. The biggest barrier to acquiring Messi for the Blaugrana may still be that.
