According to Futbol Total, Liverpool are “interested” in signing Atletico Madrid striker Joao Felix when the transfer window reopens in the new year.
The Spanish Twitter account claims the Reds are ready to offer €70m (£61m) to secure the Portugal international’s services:
Felix has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs including Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal over the past year, with the player reportedly unhappy with his situation at Atletico.
However, it would be wise to take this Futbol Total story with a big pinch of salt. No reliable reporter has even hinted that Jurgen Klopp’s side are considering a move for Felix.
While he could be seen as the ideal replacement for Roberto Firmino given the Brazilian is set to leave Anfield when his contract expires in June, Liverpool have already splashed a hefty sum on Darwin Nunez in recent times.
