Liverpool have recently been linked with Mykhaylo Mudryk and the Reds have been asked to sign the Ukraine international from Shakhtar Donetsk.

British-Ukrainian journalist Andrew Todos has praised the player, saying he can fit into Jurgen Klopp’s system at Anfield.

Todos claims the player is worth around £43.5million and told the Liverpool Echo:

“He’s a technically gifted right-winger. He can play either side when needed but seems more comfortable stepping in, although he’s not the kind of player to go for long shots from the edge of the box like Andriy Yarmolenko, on the contrary, he uses the cut-back to beat the players.

The journalist believes that if he moves to Liverpool, Mudryk can be deployed on the left wing and support Darwin Nunez in attack. “I think he would be a good alternative to Luis Diaz. Maybe he’s less likely to conjure up a long-range strike out of nowhere, but his energy and determination down the left flank will cause defenders problems .”

“He would be a valuable asset as someone who can feed Darwin Nunez and bring balls to the touchline when needed to cut down on easy finishes from oncoming players.”

Last season Liverpool had a lot of depth in the wide attacking positions. As for the LW role, Sadio Mane was world class and Origi proved effective on the bench.

However, the Senegalese joined FC Bayern Munich in the summer and the Belgian opted for a move to AC Milan and the Reds failed to sign a replacement winger.

So, at the moment, there’s no one good enough to cover for Luis Diaz. Jota can play in this position, but of course he’s not a wide player and he’s mostly excelled in the CF role.

This season, Mudryk has scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists in 5 games for Shakhtar. Should Liverpool spend the money to sign him in January?
