Arsenal should consider signing Brentford’s “different level” Ivan Toney to bolster their attack.
Arsenal have had an incredible start to the new Premier League season, playing the type of football that fans are very excited about – and enjoy watching.
But there is still much speculation about who they could sign in the upcoming transfer window – but they have been told that they should try to sign Brentford striker Toney.
Toney scored 31 goals for Brentford when they won promotion from the Championship in 2020-21, and he has gone on to score 20 goals in the Premier League so far.
According to reports, there could be a £100 million ($113 million) frontman in west London.
“I’ll say this,” Is there a better striker in the Premier League than Toney right now?
“The proof is in the pudding; he’s been promoted to the Premier League with a team that isn’t expected to stay up; he’s one of the top three goal scorers in the Premier League with a team that isn’t expected to be top-10, top-12 in the Premier League.”
‘Arsenal have the brilliant Gabriel Jesus working wonders up top, but he isn’t really an out and out striker – a man who can hold the ball up, win things in the air, and give Mikel Arteta something different in that attack.’
“If you were Arsenal and you could write a cheque for £100 million and buy a player from Holland or France or Italy and give them a year and a half to acclimate, would you write a cheque and buy one of the top three number nines in the Premier League who is not even in his prime?”
“Toney is destined for one of the big clubs, and if I were one of Arsenal’s owners, he would be there.”
